H. Arthur Edge, III
Arthur Edge, III was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Art graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1985 with bachelor’s degrees in both economics and molecular biology. After completing his undergraduate degree, Art returned to Birmingham and worked in the insurance industry, specializing in tax qualified retirement plans. After developing an interest in law after serving as an insurance expert in various legal proceedings, Art enrolled at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, from which he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1997. That same year, Art founded his own law firm, which would later evolve into Edge Lawyers, concentrating primarily in construction defects and related matters.
Since that time, Art has handled cases in Tennessee, Georgia and New Jersey, in addition to his native Alabama. Art has tried over 90 jury trials and 45 arbitration proceedings to completion, and has settled over 1200 cases prior to trial. Over the years since starting Edge Lawyers, Art has built a team of skilled attorneys who strive to provide successful outcomes for our clients.
Art cares deeply about his local community and home city of Birmingham, and gives back through several non-profit organizations including First Light and the Greater Birmingham Humane Society (where Art found his adoptive canine children, Twiggy and Willow, two of the resident pups our clients might expect to meet in the office). In addition to Alabama’s State Courts, Art is licensed to practice law in Alabama’s Federal District Courts as well as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, where Art has been invited to submit oral argument on various occasions.
